Disarmament and International Security Committee
Under-Secretary-General/ Organizing Committee
Hello! My name is Yejoo, and I am the Under-Secretary-General for the Disarmament and International Security Committee.
Amid the aggravation of the human rights situation in North Korea, I believe, more than ever, in our responsibility as individuals with the privilege of freedom of speech to speak up for those who are being silenced. MUNSCR will unquestionably be a profoundly valuable experience, and I cannot wait to meet all the bright, intelligent, and motivated participants!

Hello! My name is Hinako and I am a junior at Mount Holyoke College.
I’m majoring in International Relations and Religion, with a focus on Development Studies and Human Rights. I have always been passionate about Model UN and am honored to join MUNSCR as a member of the Arrangement Committee. I hope we can get to know each other and make good memories while engaging in human rights issues in North Korea to spread more awareness. Can’t wait to see you all!
My name is Ha Joon Lee. I will be serving as your head chair of the Disarmament Committee.
I am currently majoring in Financial Business at Hanyang University. Protection of North Korea defectors and regional security and nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula has always been a major issue globally. Often, people fail to recognize and forget that North Koreans are no different from us and that the end of human suffering is a right to each and every individual. That is why it is crucial for us to look at ways to realize peace for all by fostering inclusion and disarmament in an intercultural context. MUNSCR is a community where we all try and frame a pathway to a better future through public speaking. With collaboration, I firmly believe the delegates will arise solutions to ongoing affairs. I am looking forward to hearing various ideas and perspectives which will enrich the debate.!
Hello:) I’m Chanshin, majoring in social studies education at the Korea National University of Education.
Peace is what keeps me motivated. While taking part in other discussions about Korean Unification or East Asian security problems, I found out that accepting various opinions as much as I can is so important, and thought participating in a debate as a chair position would be the best chance to get more information and analyze the situation neutrally, excluding any prejudice or my inaccurate bias. As the MUNSCR program transcends the border and nationality, I look forward to sharing so many various kinds of opinions with students from all around the world!
